Recording artist Jodie Leslie - a five foot, farm raised gal - has taken those hard working farm values she was raised on and put them into her passion for music. She has performed at the Canadian Grey Cup, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, the Canadian Finals Rodeo, for the Premier, Prime Minister, and has also been honored to open for her country recording artist mentors George Canyon, Michelle Wright, Grand ‘Ol Opry’s Bill Anderson (Whisperin’ Bill), Canadian Hall of Famer Carroll Baker, and Merle Haggard’s sons - Ben and Noel Haggard.
With a powerhouse voice, her sound seems to color outside the lines - and that has opened doors to her in the pop/rock world as well, having also been invited to share the stage with pop icons Brian Adams, Chantal Kreviazuk, Gino Vannelli, Allanah Myles, John Conlee, Trooper, Lee Aaron, Harlequin, & Honeymoon Suite. As a lover and researcher of the age of 80’s music, Jodie was honored to receive a personal shout out from Micheal Sweet of the iconic Metal Band “Stryper”, who now is a follower of her music!
The diversity in acceptance of Jodie Leslie’s voice and music seems to point to the fact that fans both young and old - mainstream and country - seem to gravitate to the positive messages in her work. Her new single “U + Me” is a song many across the country can relate to. Her debut album "Resonant Frequency" contains the single "Daylight" penned by Leslie which is now featured in the U.S. Warner film "Refuge" with Linda Hamilton. Single "Keep Your Memory Alive" from the “Born For The Unknown” Album is now being used by Veterans Voices of Canada (www.vetvoice.org). Her rendition of Alabama's "Angels Among Us" was given the thumbs up by Sony ATV Nashville, while her version of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" has been called "Bold and Soaring" by industry professionals. Inspired by the Dixie Chick's song "Easy Silence", Jodie respectfully covers this song with a fresh new sound accompanied only by piano and cello.
